Ulike Scientific Innovation Conference
Ulike scientific innovation conference
As part of our retained PR programme with beauty tech brand Ulike, we wanted to create a new conversation around its at-home IPL technology beyond traditional product reviews and launches. With PCOS Awareness Month in September providing a timely opportunity, we identified a way to connect Ulike’s core product benefit, hair removal, within a wider conversation around women’s health, raising awareness of PCOS and the challenges faced by those living with the condition.
The strategy
We developed a ‘Scientific Innovation Forum’ event concept for Ulike, partnering with the charity PCOS Relief to bring together medical expertise, lived experience and media engagement. The aim was to create a credible, empathetic platform to discuss PCOS, its symptoms and the role at-home IPL can play in helping those experiencing unwanted facial and body hair feel more confident in their hair-removal choices.
The event featured an expert-led panel discussion, made up of dermatologists & GPs specialising in skin health, alongside a PCOS Relief spokesperson, to discuss the importance of greater awareness and understanding of the condition, its often-overlooked side effects and available hair-removal options.
Media and influencers were invited to attend, giving guests the opportunity to trial Ulike’s product range first-hand and preview upcoming launches, while connecting with experts and engaging in meaningful discussion around women’s health.
Beyond the event itself, we helped establish a longer-term partnership between Ulike and PCOS Relief, launching a project that enables customers to contribute to the charity alongside their purchases on Ulike’s website
The results
By combining scientific expertise, lived experience and meaningful charitable collaboration, we evolved Ulike’s product-led PR into a purpose-driven campaign. The initiative connected the brand’s technology to a real consumer need, created opportunities for deeper media and influencer engagement, and established a lasting platform to support the PCOS community beyond PCOS Awareness Month.
