This week on our latest episode of Ten minutes with… we are joined by Karl Hancock publisher of Nub News.
Nub News is a network of hyperlocal news websites in over 150 towns across the UK. Prior to founding Nub News in 2018, Karl spent 26 years in The City, London advising funding managers from all over the world. He worked at Citigroup, Goldman Sachs and Berenberg Bank to name a few, bringing more than 150 private companies to the stock market.
For the last 12 years, Karl has specialised in analysing companies with a market capital of £100 million – £300 billion, trying to spot the next big winner.
He worked with the management of Domino’s Pizza and Rightmove, two business models he admires greatly. These businesses helped Karl form and shape his vision for Nub News to change the business model for local journalism.
Find out more about the gaps in the regional news market Karl has discovered and the importance of such organisations like Nub News to exist.
Interviewed by Tim Jotischky our Head of Consultancy at The PHA Group, this compelling episode should not be missed!
