Meet the team – Tara Baaj

We spoke to Tara, who is a Junior Account Executive in our Corporate team, about life at PHA and how she has found her first few months with the agency.

Welcome to PHA, Tara! Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

I’m 23 and have now been living in London for 5 years now, so have finally mastered the tube lines. I studied English at King’s College London where I interned with Grazia and did some work in human rights, with non-profit organisations. I also worked in the UAE for a couple of months for a designer – with a few reputation problems! After graduating, I travelled across Central America before starting at another PR agency and finding my way to PHA. Despite joining during the pandemic, it was made seamless by my teammates and the fantastic culture at the agency!

What have you been working on during your first few months at PHA?

A lot! From trading platforms to medical cannabis, there’s a great range of clients and accounts at PHA with no two days being the same. A highlight has been working with JA Europe, the largest non-profit for education and entrepreneurship in Europe. Education has been severely disrupted by Covid-19 with growing numbers of unemployment and JA Europe has been working to change this trajectory. It’s been interesting to work on such a topical account, with an international presence!

Now that you know your teammates a little better, how would you describe them in three words?

What are you most excited about achieving at PHA?

The pandemic has catalysed the emergence of some key trends, such as renewable energy and financial wellbeing. It’s great to see PHA react to these trends with the flurry of new business coming in! I’m excited about working on these new accounts and in turn, starting to look at areas that could benefit from PR in the future. At PHA, you’re encouraged to be entrepreneurial so I’m looking forward to finding my niche.

Tell us one thing about yourself that might surprise us!

I had a stint as a child model! If I hadn’t chosen PR over the catwalk, Kendall Jenner would be unemployed.
