Increasing awareness of, and engagement with, The Sunday Times Sportswomen of the Year Awards with our #WhoInspiresYou campaign

The Sunday Times Sportswomen of the Year Awards have been championing women’s sport for over 30 years.

They wanted an agency to help them grow engagement and, importantly, deliver more value to their major sponsors, Vitality, via increased media visibility.

Given that the awards are owned by The Sunday Times, we had to get creative to encourage other media outlets to feature and promote them.

We therefore devised the #WhoInspiresYou campaign, to bring to life just how crucial it is to ensure the visibility of successful female athletes, to inspire the stars of tomorrow.

We scripted, managed and coordinated the campaigns core asset – a video – which featured five young girls all hoping to one day emulate the success of their sporting heroes.

The video was then distributed via an organic social media campaign and media outreach. We also commissioned original research, created infographics and delivered a launch event to support the activation. This was all supported by a proactive press office promoting the awards nominees and winners.

Our team delivered over 200 pieces of press coverage over the course of the campaign with more than 60 sports organisations shared the campaign content on their social channels. The event and accompanying campaign were heralded as a ‘huge success’ by the Sunday Times.
