We supported Octopus Energy on their journey from challenger to unicorn status.
We established a robust outsourced press office with a philosophy that was bold, proactive and transparent.
Handling everything from punchy corporate commentary and messaging to consumer campaigns, our strategy and execution influenced multiple stakeholders, and challenged the outdated ‘norms’ of the UK energy market.
To support this scaling business, we managed and regularly refreshed external messaging, media training and campaign strategies, working closely with the CEO and multiple other experts in the businesses. This provided diverse technical perspectives and opinions for press. Alongside executive profiling this messaging was delivered through reactive news commentary, longform articles and case studies.
Our media relations work encompassed broadcast, national, consumer and trade titles, developing personal relationships between CEO and the key national energy writers. Our press office also dovetailed with public affairs efforts in support of the energy price cap, which was successfully implemented in the UK.
Support also extended to events, from regional community tree planting campaigns to developer hack-days, trade event keynotes and media product trials.
