The PHA Group is this week launching our new PHAse Out initiative for 2021, which we’ve designed to help our employees and the business become more sustainable in all aspects of our lives and work.
The campaign is part of our wider company goal to improve our sustainability and ultimately achieve B Corp status. Certified B Corporations are those that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. They accelerate a global culture shift to redefine success in business and work towards a more inclusive and sustainable economy.
The PHAse Out campaign will educate and engage our employees on a variety of sustainability topics, with a different sustainability focus for each quarter of the year. Each quarter will see staff involved with events, seminars and other activities to keep them engaged and learning about improving their sustainability, reducing waste, and how they can better re-use and recycle materials.
We’re kicking off the year with a campaign around food, and to celebrate the launch of this exciting new initiative, we’re inviting employees to start to #PHAseOut plastic waste and grow their own herb gardens at home. We’ll be sending out ‘grow your own herb garden’ kits for staff to grow in their gardens or simply on a windowsill, and will be encouraging them to keep us updated with progress pictures on how they are developing. We are also making plans for a virtual vegan cooking masterclass to inspire our people during the lockdown, and will be providing regular advice and tips for reducing food waste and for making more sustainable food choices.
We’re excited and committed to delivering a sustainability programme that will engage, educate and inspire us all throughout 2021, and look forward to keeping you updated with how we progress.
