Meet the team – Hamish Campbell-Shore

We spoke to Hamish, who is a Public Affairs Account Executive in our Strategic Communications team, about life at PHA and how he has found his first few months with the agency.

Q. Welcome to PHA, Hamish! Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
A. I was born in London but grew up in the West Midlands before making my way to the South West to study politics and economics at the University of Bath. I have a background in Public Affairs, having worked at another agency prior to joining PHA. If you ask my team, they will tell you that I’m a tad obsessed with politics and I’m proud to have played a part in a couple of General Election Campaigns (2017 and 2019) in the UK and a congressional race in the US.

Q. What have you been working on during your first few months at PHA?
A. I’ve been working with a number of fantastic clients and businesses over the last few months. A real highlight has been a campaign we are running with travel agency, TravelUp. The travel industry has been seriously impacted by Covid-19 and TravelUp is proposing some extremely strong proposals that would protect customers funds in the event a flight or holiday is cancelled. It’s been extremely interesting to work on such a topical subject and try and shape the future of the travel industry.

Q. Now that you know your team mates a little better, how would you describe them in three words?
A. I’m actually a bit fortunate to have worked at PHA at the beginning of my career, spending over a year at Hammer House before returning to study. So I’m lucky enough to have known some of them for years! The three words I’d use for my team mates though are dedicated, driven, and talented.

Q. What are you most excited about achieving at PHA?
A. I’m looking forward to continuing to work with a broad and diverse range of clients, all with completely different objectives and across entirely different sectors. One of the best parts of working at PHA is that no two days are ever the same!

Q. Tell us one thing about yourself that might surprise us!
A. Well that is a difficult one! I think perhaps that I am qualified to represent Pakistan in a few different sports under the grandparent rule – that normally surprises people!
