Establishing ConsultMyApp as a go-to national commentator on Test and Trace & Vaccine Passports

Founder and CEO Mike Rhodes challenged us to raise the media profile of ConsultMyApp and grow his personal profile through interviews, thought leadership and expert commentary on key topics central to the CMA mission.

ConsultMyApp wanted national media coverage, so the challenge was to bring app marketing into the mainstream and make it newsworthy. Therefore, our PR strategy focused on tying CMA’s expertise to key stories dominating the national news agenda. As one of the world’s leading Mobile Marketing agencies, ConsultMyApp were ideally placed to provide expert comment and analysis following the government’s roll-out of Test and Trace and Vaccine Passports. We have continuously maximised news hijacking opportunities to a point where the business is now one of the go to-commentators on app-related issues tied to the pandemic. At a time when consumers and businesses alike have needed clarity, we have positioned Mike Rhodes as a trusted spokesperson with market-leading analysis.

The timing couldn’t have been better – over the last six months the following stories presented ideal opportunities for CMA to lead the way with commentary and insights which were lapped up by the national media: the launch of the NHS Covid app, roll-out of Test and Trace, the “pingdemic”, the launch of Vaccine Passports as well as Scotland’s Covid Passport roll-out.

Complemented by a regular drumbeat of news announcements, thought leadership and founder interviews with Mike, we focused our efforts on the busy news agenda and found ways to ensure CMA were part of the conversation each time a covid app-related headline hit the news – resulting in regular coverage in print, online and radio.
