Account Executive

Location: Manchester or Leeds

Contract: Full-time, permanent (hybrid, 3 days a week in the office)

About the PHA Group

At The PHA Group, we blend strategic insight with creative thinking to deliver impactful communications for brands, businesses and individuals. We’re independent, fast-growing and fiercely proud of our people-first culture.

Following the successful first few years of growing a presence in the North, we’re looking for a curious, energetic junior to join our growing northern team — with bases in both Manchester and Leeds.

We work with a mix of creative, forward-thinking clients across lifestyle, food & drink, wellness, law, education, tech and beyond. We’ve built a strong team and are now looking for someone brilliant to join us at junior/account executive level. If you’re hungry to learn, love storytelling and have a feel for what drives conversations– we’d love to hear from you.

Role overview

As a Junior / Account Executive, you’ll play a key role in helping to run exciting PR campaigns from day one. You’ll support across a range of clients, writing killer content, building media and influencer relationships, helping with campaign ideation and getting your teeth into the fast-paced world of PR.

Day-to-day, you’ll be

  • Writing press releases, features, blogs and social copy with confidence and creativity
  • Researching media trends and building targeted media lists
  • Selling-in stories and building relationships with key journalists and influencers
  • Supporting with event planning, product launches and press moments
  • Monitoring media coverage and reporting campaign impact to clients
  • Taking part in brainstorms and pitching in ideas
  • Keeping your finger on the pulse of what’s going on in the region – from trends to talent
  • Being an active part of client calls and day-to-day comms
  • Dreaming up bold, creative campaign ideas – then helping bring them to life across different channels
  • Connecting with influencers and co-creating scroll-stopping content that gets people talking
  • Digging into results to help us show the real impact of our work – plus keeping the account running smoothly behind the scenes, tracking and evaluating success

What we’re looking for

  • A passion for PR and great communication – written and verbal
  • A self-starter who’s proactive, organised and ready to get stuck in
  • Some relevant experience in PR, comms or content (agency or in-house) – internships welcome (not mandatory, the right attitude and mindset is the most important part!)
  • Someone who has an initial understanding of the media and social landscape and has a flair for spotting a good story
  • A team player who’s up for a challenge and ready to learn fast
