The PHA Group celebrates commitment to the real living wage
We are delighted to announce that The PHA Group is now an accredited Living Wage Employer. This means that all employees and third-party contractors working for us earn the Living Wage as a minimum, set annually by the Living Wage Foundation.
The real Living Wage is higher than the government’s minimum, or National Living Wage, and is an independently calculated as an hourly rate of pay based on the actual cost of living. As of April 2022, it is currently £9.90 in the UK, with a higher rate of £11.05 for London, reflecting the higher costs of living in the capital.
Over 9000 organisations, including Barclays, Burberry, and The PHA Group, voluntarily choose to pay the real Living Wage because we believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay. Since 2011, the Living Wage movement has delivered a pay rise to over 300,000 people, putting over £1.6 billion extra into the pockets of low paid workers.
Our ongoing pledge to paying our employees the Living Wage as a minimum, in addition to keeping our suppliers accountable to the same cause, will see us increase the salaries of those earning the Living Wage within six months of the annual announcement by the Living Wage Foundation, and ensuring our suppliers follow suit.
In addition to this, our commitment to paying our employees fairly is also supported by salary benchmarking based on annual PRCA recommendations for agencies in our size bracket, with regular support from our recruitment partners who provide real-time market insight.
