Pre-batched bottled cocktail brands to keep an eye out for this Christmas

The Waitrose annual Food & Drink Report is known for providing an insightful glimpse into how consumer habits and trends evolve and change every year. Last month the business published its 2021/2022 report. Key points dissected from the report included the emergence of the “homebody economy” characterised by the predicted increase in stay-at-home gatherings. Another trend identified was the increase in the consumption of premium pre-batched bottled cocktails.

It would appear that post-pandemic, consumers have become more adventurous with their tipples. Premium pre-batched cocktails in a bottle are set to take the market by storm in the New Year.

As demand increases and rapidly into the festive season, consumers will want to know where they can find pre-made premium cocktails. So with this in mind, here are five brands that are at the forefront of this emerging sector.

Tapp’d Cocktails

Tapp’d cocktails is a family-run ready to drink cocktail company. After launching in 2019 they have seen rapid growth aided by the success of their local home delivery service. Tapp’d’s mission is to create handcrafted cocktails using real fruit, ethically sourced coffee, and award-winning spirits. Their products are gluten-free, vegan, and free from any artificial flavours and preservatives.

The brand experienced a spike in sales after an appearance on ITV’s This Morning, where Tapp’d cocktails received a glowing review from presenter Holly Willoughby. From Pornstar and Espresso Martini’s to Pina Colada, consumers have a wealth of tipples to choose from.

Tom Savano

Tom Savano is an independent handcrafted drinks company created by James Kerslake. The idea was born when James discovered his love for making cocktails for his friends in 2018. What started as a side hustle for the entrepreneur is now the most highly awarded cocktail company in Europe with sales expected to reach £550,000 this year.

Each unique blend has been created with premium craft spirits and infusions, an example of this is their most prominent cocktail the Cuban revolutionary mojito. This cocktail is created using matusalem platino rum infused with honey, cedar, and almonds. Leaving consumers to sit back, relax and be transported to a holiday abroad. An experience and a great tasting cocktail, what more could you want, apart from maybe another!

Funkin Cocktails

Funkin Cocktails was founded by Alex Carlton in 1999 and was the first drinks company to create 100% natural fruit purees, syrups, and cocktail mixers.

In under 15 seconds, consumers can enjoy a perfectly blended cocktail every time. Simply shake the spirit and add the Funkin prebatch product with ice. Funkin is also part of the original recipe for the most popular cocktail in the UK, the Pornstar Martini.

Recently the brand picked up not one but two Great Taste Awards for their Strawberry Daiquiri and Pina Colada options.

Given the festive season is fast approaching, the brand has recently launched its Christmas gift box options, perfect for friends, family or even colleagues.

Nio Cocktails

Nio cocktails was created when founders Luca and Alessandro were inspired whilst hosting a dinner party for friends. This led to the pair  partnering up with professional mixologist Patrick Pistolesi, owner of Rome’s Drink Kong one of the most popular bars in the city.

Each cocktail box contains three, six or nine cocktails that customers can customize to fit their own preferences and the box will be delivered by post in 24 hours. Nio have also launched six festive themed cocktails based off iconic cocktail names which are Snow Daquiri, Winter Sidecar, Spiced Negroni, Christmas Margarita, Apple Rum Punch and Christmas in Manhattan.

Tails Cocktails

Tails Cocktails was founded in 2020 by Nick Wall when he discovered the demand for easily accessible high-quality cocktails. Since then, the brand has gone on to become one of the leaders in the crafted and batched cocktail space. The aim of the business was to create cocktails for professional use in bars and the hospitality sector to increase quality, consistency and speed.

Tails Cocktails has also placed an importance on making sure their production processes are sustainable and green. With this mind, the cocktails do not include perishable goods, meaning zero waste is achieved whilst packaging is 100% recyclable.
