Gourmet Indian food brands made in the UK

This week sees the UK celebrate National Curry week sponsored by Kingfisher, one of India’s premier beers.

Whilst the idea of ordering in a chicken jalfrezi on a Friday evening to celebrate the end of the working week might be appealing. We thought we’d take this opportunity to raise awareness for four gourmet Indian food brands and supplier who are making mouth-watering meals from the finest ingredients that the UK has to offer.

Praveen Kumar

It’s been quite the rise for celebrity chef, Praveen Kumar who opened his award-winning Indian restaurant ‘Tabla’ in Perth, Scotland over a decade ago.

The success and rising reputation of this hit restaurant led to Chef Praveen deciding to open his own Indian Cook School in 2016 and begin to grow his own organic produce which is now used in all his ready meals.

The ready meals themselves are cooked and then blasted frozen and boxed, (in fully recyclable boxes) in insulated packaging which operates like a mini freezer.

So rather than order a takeaway why not pick one of Praveen Kumar’s ready to eat meals and enjoy the craft of a man who has been described as the ‘The Curry King’ by the Scottish Sunday Post.

This exciting brand is helping to make cooking from scratch easier for consumers. The Tastesmiths team hand-select and package all the hard to find, top of the range fresh ingredients and spices for you, and then package them up in a starter-kit.
