Five canned cocktails brands to quench your thirst this summer

Fueled by the pandemic, 2020 saw an exponential rise in RTDs (ready-to-drinks). From hard seltzers to canned cocktails, it was the only alcohol category to see growth that year. Two years on, and their popularity isn’t looking to slow down any time soon, with the global RTD cocktail market projected to reach $57.2 billion by 2032. 

With the hot weather finally approaching, there’s no better time to crack open a canned cocktail to enjoy in the sun. Easy and convenient, they’re a perfect companion for a summer picnic or a BBQ.

With this in mind, we’ve picked five brands to quench your thirst this summer.

MOTH Drinks

MOTH (aka Mix of Total Happiness) was created by Rob Wallis and Samuel Hunt, with the aim of creating bar quality canned cocktails. They make sure to include the highest quality ingredients, all of which are carefully sourced from independent trusted suppliers which they’ve listed on their site.

Options include classic favourites such as an Old Fashioned, an Espresso Martini, a Margarita and a Negroni. Available in Waitrose, Tesco and Sainsburys as well as their site, there’s plenty of opportunity to get your fix.

Niche Cocktails

Niche Cocktails was founded by Bob Scott after returning from his European travels having collected exotic spirits and perfecting his mixology skills. With a goal in mind of creating premium cocktails that taste as if you’d ordered in them in a bar, he launched the brand in 2020 with Paddy, the co-founder of Paddy & Scott’s Coffee.

They offer a variety of flavours ranging from a Manuka Honey Whisky Sour to a Raspberry Cosmo and their gift boxes are a perfect option to bring to your friend’s summer BBQ. Don’t fancy any alcohol? They’ve also got you covered with a mocktail range.

Funkin Cocktails

Founded in London in 1999, Funkin Cocktails were the first to create 100% natural fruit purées, syrups and cocktail mixers. Now their range includes canned cocktails with flavours such as Peach on the Beach, Pina Colada and Espresso Martini.

This month the brand unveiled a bright and creative national campaign entitled ‘It’s Funkin Time.’ The campaign, which will run until August, shows the Funkin Cocktails Queen inspiring consumers to celebrate when they’re feeling good with a ready to drink Funkin Cocktail.

East London Liquor Co.

East London Liquor company began eight years ago at their distillery in the heart of London’s East End. They distil their gin, vodka, and whisky themselves and import the rum from Jamaica and Guyana.

Choose from flavours like Rum & Ginger and Vodka & Rhubarb, and you can even go and visit their distillery to see how the drinks are made.


&SODA have two flavours, a classic Vodka Lime Soda, and a Raspberry Vodka Soda for a berry twist. Their drinks are a simple concoction of premium triple-distilled vodka, real fruit flavours and soda water. Sugar free, gluten free, and only 92 calories – this is definitely an option for the health-conscious among us.
