With the awards season in full swing, it’s no wonder that Michelle Williams is finding herself with a list of nominations as long as her arm! Her portrayal of the iconic Marilyn Monroe in the recent My Week with Marilyn was beyond incredible. From the uncanny look, the voice and the mannerisms, Michelle really got into the character to give the audience a real insight into the life of the star during her filming of The Prince and the Showgirl.

For those who still haven’t seen it, the film documents a week of tense filming of the Sir Laurence Olivier and Marilyn Monroe classic through the eyes of Olivier’s production assistant, Colin Clark. The film focuses on the week Monroe spent in Britain being escorted around by Clark and their romance after her new husband Arthur Miller returns to America.

The film highlights the frustrations of Olivier as he tries to direct a sometimes diva-ish Monroe. The diva moments are easily forgiven however as her star quality (eventually) shines through in each scene.

Alongside Williams are an award-winning cast including Kenneth Branagh, Dame Judi Dench, Emma Watson, Dominic Cooper and Zoë Wanamaker who together bring to life Clark’s account.

The film also brought to our attention the new upcoming star for 2012, Eddie Redmayne who plays the handsome Colin Clark.

If you haven’t seen it yet, I would highly recommend adding it to your list of must-sees for 2012!
