Fitness and health experts will be descending on Birmingham this weekend for the UK’s biggest independent running expo, The National Running Show.

The award-winning exhibition will play host to over 250 exhibitors and 27,500 runners from within the fitness industry, whilst over 80 guest speakers including the likes of Olympic gold medallists Linford Christie and Sally Gunnell have been lined up to speak at the two-day event.

We’ve picked out some of our favourite companies that we’re most looking forward to seeing exhibit at this year’s National Running Show.

Aftershokz

Bringing a fresh approach to headphone design is Aftershokz. Whilst most brands focus on keeping the sound out and isolating people from background noise, Aftershokz focus on letting the sound in. The revolutionary brand believes in a different vision for the future, a vision that keeps people together not apart.

You know that sound you hear when you’re eating something? Well, that is created by vibration travelling through the bones in your face through to your inner ear.

Using this natural phenomenon to their advantage Aftershokz, have created bone-conducting transducers that guide micro-vibrations through your cheekbones to your inner ears, delivering sound without the ears having to be covered by a headphone set.

Athlete ambassadors include Olympic and European medallist, Eilish Mccolgan and ultra-trail runner, Harry Jones.

DNAFit

DNAFit is modernising the way we think about three core areas, health, fitness and nutrition. Through a simple salvia test, DNAFit creates a complete nutrigenetic profile, where this data can be used to create a completely personalised fitness programme and food plan to help support whatever your goals are.

Former Manchester United and England footballer, Rio Ferdinand is a big advocate of DNAFit and has created the DNAFit Academy, which helps to shine a light on the issues surrounding health and wellness in his hometown of Peckham.

It’s time to unlock your full potential.

Nine Seeds

With years of experience, Nine Seeds are experts in producing health snacks. They’re on a mission to feed the nation with snacks containing only the best natural ingredients and with exciting flavours to match.

Every single Nine Seeds bar that is created uses a unique blend of four different seeds including sunflower, pumpkin, sesame and hemp. This provides a great source of energy and natural goodness.

No matter if you’re gluten-free, wheat-free, or a vegetarian, Nine Seeds bars are for you.

Maurten

Based in Goteborg, Sweden is sports fuel brand, Maurten. Since discovering in 2015 how to produce sport energy fuels easier to use by capturing high concentrated levels of carbohydrates in energy gels.

Maurten which only uses natural ingredients in their hydrogels became popular within the running community, it wasn’t long before the best runners in the world joined in. In fact, Eliud Kipchoge used the Maurten hydrogels whilst he made history in becoming the first person in history to run a sub-two-hour marathon last year.

Kipchoge has one thing in common with the winners of the last twenty-four major marathons from around the globe –  they all grabbed a Maurten bottle at the drinks station during the race.

World’s first hydrogel sports fuel with caffeine. Now available. (link in bio) INTRODUCTION: Caffeine tastes bitter. The sports nutrition industry has historically tried to hide the bitterness in gels by adding flavors and acid, or by simply just having low levels of caffeine. But added artificial flavors won’t help you go faster. And you want sufficient levels of caffeine. So, we decided to simply circumvent the problem. By harnessing our Hydrogel Technology we’ve built a biopolymer matrix that is dense enough to encapsulate both the caffeine and the carbohydrate mixture. The result: GEL 100 CAF 100 – a true GEL with low bitterness, low sweetness, an effective level of caffeine and a lot of energy. @gomofarah & @janfrodeno #maurten #gel100caf100
