Edtech is one of the UK’s fastest-growing industries estimated to be worth somewhere in the region of £170 million to the UK economy. With schools, colleges and nurseries being forced to close with immediate effect and classes and education being moved to online platforms and forums there has never been a higher demand for virtual learning.

With all eyes now on the edtech industry as the saviours of education and the providers of tools, resources and support,  we’ve taken a look at five edtech platforms that are providing a free offering during these turbulent times.

Century Tech

An award-winning teaching and learning platform for primary and secondary schools, colleges and universities.

Codio

It’s a known fact that when students aren’t engaged, performance and participation suffers. Luckily Codio is here to help, the all in one learning platform that offers unrivalled control over the delivery of computer science courses.

Codio is a cloud-based platform that allows for the creation, assigning, completion, testing and grading of assignments.

Codio is available for free for colleges and university up until the end of August, so make sure to make the most of it.

Twinkl

With over 525,000 resources and new content added daily, Twinkl provides instant access to a complete range of teaching, planning and assessment materials to support learning from birth.

Their bank of teaching material is extensive, coving ages 0-16, all tailored to fit into the Welsh, Scottish and Republic of Ireland curriculums.
