Less than 100 days before Christmas! It’s now time for brands to start pushing the button on their Christmas campaigns. And researches show that 18% of Brits are Christmas shopping in October, 32% in November. This means that brands need to start thinking about how they are going to attract customer long before then. The buzz word this year has certainly been around sustainable gifts and presents, but it doesn’t stop there, it’s also wrapping and presentation. This year, sustainability and ethicality will be everywhere.
We are looking at companies providing ecofriendly wrapping to help make your presents even more special!
Re-wrapped is a London-based company specialising in the production of designer led environmentally friendly Wrapping Paper, Cards and Notebooks. Everything is produced using 100% recycled unbleached paper and card and only using environmentally friendly vegetable-based inks, meaning all the products can be recycled. Re-wrapped is an ethical business supporting the non-profit sector and 5% of all their profits go to charity.
Do you love bees? Do you want to save the planet? And have a passion for stationary? Wild Flowers Paper is the company for you. Wild Flowers Paper are producing quality recycled seed paper. What’s that you want to ask? It can be a card, a piece of paper or envelopes that you can be planted once you’re done with it. Every sheet of paper is embedded with various flower seeds that are good for butterflies and bees.
Their goal is to spread the word about wildflowers and how important they are to biodiversity. Some insects rely on only one species of wildflower, so once that wildflower becomes extinct or severely endangered, then so does the life of that insect species. Growing wildflowers in your garden is a small but important step in helping our wildlife. So, make sure you use seed paper cards this Christmas! It’s also a way to send flowers to people.
Flexi Hex is an adaptable plastic-free packaging solution founded by Sam and Will Boex who recognised the impact that single use plastic was having on their local and the world’s marine environment. Their passion for surfing and their personal experience of transporting boards around the globe inspired them to create a sustainable packaging sleeve for the board sports industry.
Motivated by the challenge to create user friendly, well-engineered packaging using simple biodegradable materials, Flexi-Hex is designed as a reliable, adaptable alternative to single use plastics in packaging systems. The unique honeycomb design gives the packaging high compression resistance to ensure that every product will arrive at their destination damage free.

Tips for a sustainable Christmas
We know it can be challenging to have a sustainable and ethical Christmas with all the presents and wrapping involved. We hope the ideas above would help you but if you’re more of a DIY type of person, you could also re-use some old clothes and turn them into a beautiful wrapping cover or keep your old wrapping paper and re-use it this Christmas. You also have some options of using some plastic free tape, like the one from this shop. All rolls are made with 100% brown recyclable paper and is fully biodegradeable and compostable.
